Shamanic dreaming is a concept that we find in many modern shamanic teachings, from books such as Courageous Dreaming (Hay House, March 1, 2008), by Dr Alberto Villodo, to the many spiritual development courses that can be found all over the world.

But what exactly does 'dreaming' mean? And why is it so important?

The Big Picture

The awareness of the truth of who and what we are is spreading fast nowadays; more and more people are encountering the idea that we are spiritual beings rather than purely physical ones, and that we have a wealth of spiritual resources available to us in our day to day lives.

Shamanic dreaming can be described as the way in which we use those resources. Whether we work with spiritual guides during journeys, fire ceremonies, despachos and other medicine offerings, energy medicine techniques such as illuminations and extractions, meditation or envisioning, shamanic dreaming is the delicate shaping of those tools through our intent, crafting the outcomes towards a goal or dream that we are holding for our lives.
