Massachusetts DA Monique Lamont (Andie MacDowell) is up for reelection. She quit her earlier campaign for governor when her father became ill. Now she must work to get reelected. To do that she pulls no punches and plays the scheming politician who will manipulate people to her benefit.

State Investigator Win Garano (Daniel Sunjta) is the best investigator on the force. He becomes involved in a presumed case of a Boston Strangler copycat. Or else the real Boston Strangler has returned. Either way, he is hot on the case as he carefully follows all the leads.

In the meantime, threats are made to his grandmother Nana (Diahann Carroll) and Win’s apartment is broken into. Besides the Boston Strangler copycat, there seems to be a Win Garano copycat out there, impersonating him and tracking his every move.
